Phacelia Tanacetifolia
Also known as: Lacy Tanacetifolia, Bee Phacelia, Blue Tansy, Facelia, Fiddleneck

Here is a beautiful flower if you want to bring bees and other beneficial insects to your garden. It's widely used in Europe, and is gaining traction in the U.S. This annual wildflower grows well in hot, harsh desert conditions, but it adapts easily to other environments. In the summer, the flower spikes that grow to a height of about 24-36" are light blue-violet in color, and the foliage is fern-like and lacy in appearance. It is becoming more and more popular as a cover crop and is used similarly to buckwheat as a winter cover. It is easy to till back into the soil adding nitrogen. It has a taproot and dense fibrous roots as well.

Give it a sunny location in the garden and even though it is drought tolerant, water from the roots occasionally. Sprinklers can make the stems flop. It will suffer in waterlogged conditions, so good drainage is recommended and it will withstand sandy or rocky soil. It is winter hardy to 18 degrees F. USDA Zones 3 - 10

This offer is for 1 gram, approximately 500 seeds.
